There are three locations in Fort Stevens State Park that require a Day-Use pass ($5.00 per vehicle). They are the North and South parking areas of Coffenbury Lake and the Historic Area located at the north end of the park, along the Columbia River.

Can you visit Fort Stevens?

Visitors can visit the historic Fort Stevens and Point Adams. The park’s visitor center and museum interpret the site’s long history. Tours through the old earthen fort and artillery gun batteries are also available.

How much are yurts at Fort Stevens?

Yurts are $48 per night, or $58 per night for a pet-friendly yurt. Ft. Stevens State Park is about 20 minutes north of Seaside, and about 2 hours from Portland. Yurts have electricity and heat, but the only cooking facilities are your campfire!

Are dogs allowed at Fort Stevens State Park?

Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach. Dogs are also allowed on hiking trails and campgrounds. They must be on a six foot or less leash at all times and people are required to clean up after their pets.

Can dogs go to Fort Stevens?

Leashed dogs are allowed go inside the buildings that are open to the public except for the War Games Building. During our stormy visit, we appreciated those brief chances to get out of the rain.

Does Fort Stevens State Park have WIFI?

If you are staying at the state park, Wifi is available at the office area but sporadic throughout the park.

Do dogs have to be leashed on Oregon beaches?

Generally, yes. Pets are welcome on most ocean beaches, however they must be leashed if you are within the boundaries of a state park and a leash carried with you at all times on the beach. Beyond those areas, leashes are not required although they must be under direct control (within sight and responsive to commands).

Are campfires allowed at Fort Stevens State Park?

Fires are allowed in designated metal fire pits in the Columbia Gorge, Willamette Valley, Portland-area, and on the coast from Fort Stevens near Astoria to and including Honeyman Memorial State Park near Florence.
