Inmate’s Use of Telephones: Inmates now utilize HomeWAV Voice through the video visitation systems to place regular phone calls. The phones are available in their housing areas daily from 8:00 am to 10:30 pm. HomeWAV Voice cannot call pagers, internet phones, etc.

Users pay per minute to communicate with an incarcerated loved one. The fees and services are set independently by each corrections facility, but most fees are between 10 and 30 cents per minute depending on the service provided. Some messaging features are less than one cent per character.

How do I FaceTime an inmate?
How It Works
- Check to see if your inmate’s facility offers video visitation.
- If video visitation is offered at the facility, go to www.gtlvisitme.com.
- Select the facility where your loved one is located.
- Search for your inmate, and add them.
- Click “Schedule” to begin the scheduling process.
Can prisoners have video calls?
In June 2017, California Governor Jerry Brown signed the 2017-2018 California budget, including AB 103, which statutorily requires jails to provide in-person visits rather than video calls.
How does HomeWAV work?
The way it works is: Once you are logged into the HomeWAV system, the Inmates station screens display and scroll the Inmates name in green as having a Visitor on-line and ready for a visit. The Inmate simply enters their ID information and the visit can begin.
